Ambani Ramaru"Phindi, please come and have a seat," he says as he moves from the seat in front of the laptop to the other nearby chair. I move from standing, to sitting at the couch's edge and eventually dominate the empty couch. The conversation moves from business, to his latest big award nomination, upcoming singing auditions and business.

In order to make me feel at home, he sings and asks me to join in. Reluctantly, I try out a few notes, but laughter takes over. For now, I decide to solemnly stick to my day job and redirect his attention to the interview; the bulk of which was conducted at his home in Pretoria and a little bit in the car.

Even while driving with Ambani Ramaru, whom I consider to be an older brother figure and friend, the waves from his fans and passer-byes greeting at streets and robots remind me that I too am a fan of this 2011 CROWN Gospel Awards, Best RNB Winner who was also nominated for the 2012 African Gospel Music Awards, Best Southern African Artist of the Year.

Perhaps it is his voice, lyrics, the entire package or the fact that when he is off stage, he is a downright caring "big brother" with time to stop and greet his fans, sign autographs and avail himself when required. I can't really tell you what it is. I struggle to pinpoint the exact attribute that sets him apart, but his conduct in public and private reassures me that he is absolutely someone worth featuring on Wedding Anthem. (By the way, he loves singing and does so ALL the time... even between questions while waiting for me to jot down his responses - yet with his wonderful voice, its a blessing to listen to him).

Most beloved Wedding Anthem readers - here is my brother, friend and star in every right - please welcome Ambani Ramaru onto your desktops, laptops, tablets, phones and space. Support him, download his music, buy his CD, invite him to come and sing, continue to say "hi" when you bump into him (it makes his smile and means a lot to him) or just drop him mail to encourage him to keep on keeping on (we all need encouragement from time to time).

Here he is...

In one sentence, who is Ambani?
I am a song writer, producer and creative being... I sing.

Can you please tell our readers a little bit about you...
My career highlights are that I won the 2011 CROWN Gospel Awards in 2011 for Best RNB and was nominated for the 2012 African Gospel Music Awards, Best Southern African Artist of the Year at a function that was held in London, UK.

Can you please tell your fans what you have been up to and/or what's next?
I am working on my launch in the near future as well as promoting my music. Please go out an buy my music and download it.

How do you find a balance between what you do and who you are?
It is what I do. I am both a singer and business man. My music is my ministry and business is close to my heart. They are both part of me.

We celebrate love. Do you think true love exists? If so, Who/what/where is it?
Yes, [true love is] when you love and care for someone in spite of all the circumstances you may find yourself. It is unconditional love that is not after things, but the good of the other person.

Do you think there is still a place for marriage in this day-and-age?
Yes. Marriage is a lovely thing. However, it is important to mention that it is a choice.

Do you have a message to Wedding Anthem?
Yes, please continue to inspire love.
